Situated in the village centre, the local hostelries and restaurants are all within easy walking distance – one just opposite - and there a few to choose from too! The cottage has private, off-road parking about 30 yards along the road, outside Bay Tree Cottage.
Sleeping 4 the accommodation is of an excellent standard throughout with a wonderful bright ambiance and we are sure it will be a popular retreat for many guests at any time of year. Ground floor entrance into very spacious, open-plan family space. Off the ‘lobby’ and next to the staircase is the fully tiled shower room with shower, WC and washbasin. Living room leading through to dining area and a fabulous ‘L’ shaped social area and kitchen through to the back of the cottage. The bi-fold doors totally open on to the patio courtyard extending the space even further outside creating a whole new room perfect for sitting out and enjoying the sunshine at any time of day. It is enclosed although the gardens of the adjacent properties can be overlooked. However, the cleverly structured shrubbery and trees do offer privacy. First floor landing with two bedrooms, one with a double having doors opening onto the verandah to enjoy morning sunshine. Parents please be aware of this. Bedroom two has twins and family shower room with shower, washbasin and WC.
The Jessie Mary was a merchant sailing ship, which sailed in and out of Thornham Harbour, docking in the old barn which still stands proud. Ship owner Nathaniel Woods and his family lived in Bay Tree Cottage, next door to Jessie Mary and there is a dedication him at the local church lychgate.
